I am the author of What Led Me to You, a columnist for Fostering Families Today magazine and a contributing writer for the Portland Mom's Blog.

My husband and I have been friends since we were kids and married for over 13 years. We have five beautiful children through both birth and adoption and one foster daughter.

Christ is my Savior and my rock. He has blessed me and shaped me through my trials.

I am so thankful for His love and grace.

I love to create. I have a deep love for DIY projects and anything crafty.

We are a family with food allergies to gluten and dairy so we take our passion for cooking seriously and love making new recipes.

Writing has always been a love of mine but has often sat on the back burner. When I was a child and young adult I loved to write poetry and reflective stories. Over the years I became busy with life but I kept a journal for my children to have when they are older. These last few years I have let writing become more of a focus.

My husband and I have been foster parents since 2010 to several children and writing has helped me digest the challenges and joys we have had.

One of my favorite verses in the bible is James 1:2-3.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."

I hope I can help encourage, relate and inspire.
